Today we had another session together before we all head out. We explained to the pastors how World Vision works. WV is about child development and community development. Our goal is to go into a community and work with community leaders to come up with a 10 - 20 year plan that will allow the community to become self sustaining. We will help them develop all the infrastructure that they need to take care of and provide for all of their needs. And WV will pack up and move to the next town. It's a hand up not a hand out. We concentrate on 5 key areas; water, health, education, food and economic development. All of this is done alongside all of the churches in the community with an emphasis on Christian commitment and sharing God's transformational power. Not bad for $35 a month.
